The CFD Strengthens Voice Through Merger with Ontario Alliance of Dentists

The Ontario Alliance of Dentists (OAD) has merged with the Canadian Federation of Dentistry. This merger comes at a crucial time as the national dental program aims to assist an estimated 9 million Canadians in accessing dental care. Ensuring access to quality dental care relies on the availability of skilled oral health professionals.

The merging of the two organizations will amplify their shared voice, enabling them to drive nationwide initiatives to increase qualified dental support staff. Their joint mission focuses on advocating for policies that increase the graduation rates of dental hygienists and assistants in every province.

The Canada Dental Benefit

The Canadian Federation of Dentistry is excited to see the 2023 Federal Budget invest unprecedented resources in dental care for Canadians. Investing in dental care has long-term positive effects on Canadians' health and well-being.

Dental health impacts not just physical well-being but social and economic opportunities, so the Canada Dental Benefit has the potential to improve more than just smiles in Canada. We look forward to being a voice for the dentistry community in Canada as we embark on this new chapter of delivering oral health services to 9 million Canadians who may not have had access to dental care in the past.
